For almost decades the logical framework approach (LFA) has been the major planning tool in international development but it has been challenged by a „new“ planning tool called Theory of Change (ToC). But what exactly is a ToC and why was it invented? And do development interventions really need a new planning tool? Have you ever questioned, whether all your planned project outputs/results will actually lead to your project outcome(s)?

The webinar will answer and relate to these questions and respond to additional ones raised by webinar participants. There is a lot to talk about designing a Theory of Change for projects and programmes and fortunately, there are useful guidelines available. We will finish off with a round of Q&A, where you can post your most burning questions.

In this webinar you will learn about:

  • the Theory of Change approach in general
  • the different components of a Theory of Change
  • the ‘famous underlying assumptions’
